ABBEY CREEK VINEYARD
Abbey Creek Vineyard is a family-owned boutique vineyard situated on the lower slopes of the Porongurup Range in the Great Southern wine region of Western Australia. The Porongurup sub-region excels in growing typical cool-climate grape varieties. Our first vines were planted in 1990 (Pinot Noir and Riesling), Cabernet Sauvignon in 1993 and Sauvignon Blanc in 2006.
The first wines under the Abbey Creek label were produced in 2002; the winemaker is Robert Diletti at nearby Castle Rock Estate. The The Abbey Creek wines have had considerable wine show recognition, with many awards for various vintages of all the wine styles produced. The winery achieved a 5-star rating in James Halliday’s 2010 Australian Wine Companion and has retained it in the 2011 and 2012 editions.
