Borden is located within the Shire of Gnowangerup and is the closest town to the Stirling Ranges. It is a delightful small town surrounded by undulating farming country, beautiful vistas of the rugged Stirlings, and a wonderful display of wildflowers in the Spring. ATTRACTIONS Another local wonder is a replica of a 16th Century Dutch Windmill. This windmill was built by its current owner and operator, Pleun Hitzert, using recycled bricks and timber from the old Albany jetty. Please contact Pleun Hitzert on 9827 9205 for details. If you like arts and crafts then make sure you allow time to visit "Magpie Manor". This delightful shop is located in the old Borden Agricultural Hall on John Street. It carries a wide range of art and craft produced by local people, as well as Country Threads clothing range, which is made locally from 100% wool products. "Magpie Manor" is open Monday to Thursday 9am to 4pm, and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm. The shop is closed during school holidays. SHOPPING & AMENITIES WILDFLOWERS |
