Val was born in Geraldton and brought up in a farming area until her family moved to Perth when she was a teenager. She has always been keen on Art, encouraged by her mother (specialising in China Painting) and her sister (who taught Art for a while).
Now, later in life and after spending 10 years in the Goldfields, she has moved to the Mount Barker area, joined the Plantagenet Art group and has time to enjoy her love of Painting. Val is equally happy working in Pastel, Acrylic, Watercolour or Pencil. These are only a small sample of her works, but other excellent pieces are displayed in the Plantagenet Art Gallery in Mount Barker, which is open Sundays.
